In 1715, when Giambattista Tiepolo received his first commission, he was aged nineteen. From then, until his death in 1770, his creative production, was more than impressive, spanning half a century of works on all subjects, sacred, profane, jovial, dramatic, opulent, spiritual, and religious. He worked throughout Europe, including the Royal palaces of Russia, Bavaria, Prussia, Saxony, Spain, and Franconia.
